BMW X5 Trim Levels
It’s time to bring excitement to your Westchester County and Yonkers travels. Thankfully, we have just the way to do that. The BMW X5 can be the perfect vehicle for a vacation, a quick drive to the store, or to pick up the kids from school.
The X5 blends luxury with forward-thinking design and tech features to create a modern marvel of a car. The X5 is available in two different trim levels. We’re exploring the BMW X5 trim levels in this space, so you’ll know what you can expect from your next car. Schedule a test drive today!
BMW X5 sDrive40i/xDrive40i
The main difference between the X5 sDrive40i and xDrive40i is the way the car handles the roads. The xDrive40i carries all-wheel-drive functionality, while the sDrive40i does not. Putting that aside, this is essentially the same trim, so we’ll discuss both here.
This “40i” version of the BMW X5 comes standard with a 3.0-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo engine that delivers 335 horsepower. This powerful V6 engine is mated to an 8-speed Sport Automatic transmission with Sport and Manual shift modes. It also features steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters if you want to take control.
The cabin is quite a welcoming space. It starts with the comfortable SensaTec seats, then continues to the fully furnished cargo area with velour carpets and remote trunk release and finishes with the high-gloss wood trim.
The 16-way power front sport seats include 2-way power side bolsters, 4-way lumbar support, and a memory system for the driver’s seat and steering wheel. You may occasionally let someone else take the wheel, but this memory feature ensures that the next time you drive, the controls will be just the way you left them.
Apple CarPlay™ compatibility comes standard with a 1-year trial. Using a USB port, connect your smartphone to the touchscreen and access your favorite navigation app, music, and text messages.
BMW X5 xDrive50i
The xDrive50i has one notable difference from the entry-level BMW X5 trim. While the standard powerplant on the xDrive40i is a V6, the xDrive50i gives you a much larger, much more powerful 4.4-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo V8 engine. You’ll still get all of the great accompaniments, such as the 8-speed automatic transmission and wheel-mounted paddle shifters; but you’ll also enjoy 456 horsepower.
The interior receives an upgrade, thanks to the finely grained Vernasca Leather upholstery, which gives the cabin an elegant feel.
A more luxurious cabin means more comfortable seats, too. The 20-way power Multi-contour front seats include 16-way power seat functions, with additional power adjustment for your shoulders and thighs.
While the HiFi Sound System found on the entry-level X5 is powerful, the 10-speaker setup doesn’t quite match up to what you’ll have in the xDrive 50i. The Harman Kardon® 16-speaker system delivers an incredible sound which ensures all of your songs come alive.
