The 30i powertrain of the BMW X3 includes a 2.0L TwinPower turbo I4 engine that produces 248 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired with an 8-speed STEPTRONIC automatic transmission with sport and manual shift modes.

With this engine, you’ll have two drivetrain options, each of which will affect your BMW X3 MPG numbers as estimated by the EPA:

With its M Sport brakes and M Sport suspension, this powertrain is ready to hit the road running. It can even accelerate from 0-60 MPH in just 4.4 seconds under the right conditions.

Mileage for the xDrive30e

Finally, there’s the hybrid powertrain. This is the BMW X3 xDrive30e and it combines high power and capability with efficiency. It gets up to 60 MPGe combined fuel economy as estimated by the EPA.

It also includes the following powertrain specs:

• 2.0L TwinPower turbo I4 engine
• 12 kWh Lithium-ion battery
• Integrated electric motor

With 288 combined horsepower, an 8-speed Sport Automatic transmission with sport and manual shift modes, and X3 xDrive, the xDrive30e configuration gets impressive performance while still maximizing on efficiency. In fact, it can go from 0-60 MPH in 5.9 seconds under the right conditions.

It also uses Brake Energy Regeneration to charge the battery by storing kinetic braking energy.
