Roberto Rossetti, Vice President of Engineering, BMW of North America, accepted the award for the 3.0-liter 6-cylinder inline engine found in the BMW M240i – which produces 335-horsepower, 369 pound-feet of torque and dashes to a 0-60 mph time of 4.4 seconds – with an efficiency of an estimated 26 miles per gallon.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Rossetti said, “Last year BMW turned 100 years and during that time our company has become famous for its iconic 6-cylinder inline engines. Today BMW continues to receive accolades in front of the most respected engineers in powertrain and technology in the industry. The inline-6 will continue to be part of BMW legacy. All in all, the B58 is a smoother, higher performing more efficient engine that ensures BMW delivers the true and typical driving dynamics to our customers of the Ultimate Driving Machine.”
